By a margin of one foot, the UCLBC women's first eight won the Pricewaterhouse Coopers Cup for Academic Eights at the Henley Women's Regatta 2014!  What a result!  What a way to celebrate the Club's 150th anniversary with our first win at HWR!

The men's top boat has been prequalified for the PA at Henley Royal Regatta, and we have two boats entered for the Temple.

As part of our celebrations of the 150th anniversary of UCLBC, we have been granted the honour of rowing over the course during the luncheon interval on finals day of HRR.

This very special event will be followed by the Bentham Party in parking space B41 in Lion Meadow.  So please come and support the row over crew and party with us on Sunday 6 July!

UCLBC finished the 2012-13 season with excellent performances.

The women’s first eight reached the semi-finals of the academic eights competition at HWR for the second time in three years.  The women were determined to show their quality again this year, having been prevented from competing in 2012 by demonstrably unfair conditions during the qualifying race.   This year, having beaten Imperial College with considerable ease in the first round, they came from behind to beat Queen’s University, Belfast, by two feet, before giving Reading University a fine race in the semi-final.

Stroked by 2012-13 President, Max Steiger, the men’s first eight reached the quarterfinals of the Temple Challenge Cup at HRR.   It was an excellent achievement to be one of the last three UK crews left in the competition, and represents the best UCLBC performance at HRR since our Visitors’ four reached the final in 1978.  Max’s leadership on the water has been inspirational.
